The Irvington NY PTSA is in the process of identifying interested candidates for Executive Committee positions for the 2017-2019 term beginning on July 1st, 2017, and
ending on June 30th, 2019.

The following positions need to be filled for the given term (see below for a brief summary of duties):

1. Vice President, Legislation
2. Dows Lane Vice President
3. Dows Lane Vice President
4. MSS Vice President
5. IMS Vice President
6. IHS Vice President
7. Treasurer
8. Assistant Treasurer

The following position needs to be filled for a 1-year vacancy, beginning on July 1st, 2017, and ending on June 30th, 2018 (see below for a brief summary of duties):

1. MSS Vice President

Nominations are due by Monday, March 27th.  No candidates will be considered after the deadline.

Summary of Duties

Vice President, Legislation
Keep abreast of New York State and Federal education legislation and regulations, and educate the PTSA Executive Committee and Irvington community.  Duties include attending advocacy trainings/seminars and local events, and writing memos to disseminate relevant information.  Attend two monthly daytime meetings with the PTSA Executive Committee and meet regularly with the Legislative Strategic Advisory Committee.
 
Dows Lane Vice President
Manage and oversee approximately 8-10 PTSA events, fundraisers, activities, and school-sponsored events at Dows Lane.  Work closely with the other Dows Lane VPs.  Attend a minimum of three monthly daytime meetings with/on behalf of the PTSA Executive Committee, including a Parent Advisory Council meeting.  To be a VP at Dows Lane, you must have at least one child attending Dows Lane during the entire period of your term.
 
Main Street School Vice President
Manage and oversee approximately 10 PTSA events, fundraisers and activities, and school-sponsored events at Main Street School.  Work closely with the other Main Street School VP.  Attend a minimum of three monthly daytime meetings with/on behalf of the PTSA Executive Committee, including a Parent Advisory Council meeting.  To be a VP at Main Street School, you must have at least one child attending Main Street School during the entire period of your term.
 
Irvington Middle School Vice President
Manage and oversee approximately 10 PTSA events, fundraisers and activities, and school-sponsored events at Irvington Middle School.  Work closely with the other IMS VP.  Attend a minimum of three monthly daytime meetings with/on behalf of the PTSA Executive Committee, including a Parent Advisory Council meeting.  To be a VP at Irvington Middle School, you must have at least one child attending Irvington Middle School during the entire period of your term.
 
Irvington High School Vice President
Manage and oversee approximately 7 PTSA events, fundraisers and activities, and school-sponsored events at Irvington High School.  Work closely with the other IHS VP.  Attend a minimum of three monthly daytime meetings with/on behalf of the PTSA Executive Committee, including a Parent Advisory Council meeting.  To be a VP at Irvington High School, you must have at least one child attending Irvington High School during the entire period of your term.​
 
Treasurer
Prepare the PTSA budget, manage expenses and pay bills, prepare monthly financial statements, act as liaison to bank and accountant.  Attend a minimum of two monthly daytime meetings with PTSA Executive Committee.
 
Assistant Treasurer
Collect and manage all bank deposits, manage and distribute cash boxes for events, manage e-commerce, and oversee various fundraisers.  Attend a minimum of two monthly daytime meetings with the PTSA Executive Committee.
