Contact us at [email protected] 3/18/2022 Neurodiversity Celebration Weekhe PTSA SCAFLD (Supporting Children and Families with Learning Differences) Committee is excited to kick off Neurodiversity Celebration Week, a worldwide initiative that challenges stereotypes and misconceptions about learning and developmental disabilities.
Neurodiversity is the idea that people experience and interact with the world around them in many different ways; there is no one "right" way of thinking, learning, and behaving; and differences are not viewed as deficits.
All week, the SCAFLD Committee will host events and activities to bring our community together and embrace and celebrate each other's learning, thinking and behavioral differences while promoting acceptance, tolerance, and understanding of people who are different. February marks two important opportunities to celebrate and honor our community: Lunar New Year on February 1 and Black History Month, all month long. We've compiled some resources to help you and your family recognize and celebrate this special time.
