PTSA News |
For the 2021-22 school year, the PTSA is using Google Groups to help organize our class email lists for K-5. Google Groups allow us to better manage communications while protecting your privacy. Want to be sure you're in the loop? Here are some tips for ensuring you don't miss any emails.
Share Your Wish, an organization started by an Irvington family, allows kids to “share” their birthday with up to three charitable organizations of their choosing. Guests contribute to the child’s birthday page, and after the birthday, Share Your Wish distributes the money collected between the child and the charities the child selected. Share Your Wish teaches generosity and compassion by making birthday celebrations more about giving and spending time with friends and less about getting more “stuff.” It gives kids a chance to make a difference. Please keep us in mind as your child plans his or her birthday party this year. Did you know? In addition to including Share Your Wish in your celebration plans, there are many other ways to support the Bulldog Family Fund and the PTSA when you patronize local businesses and shop online. Check out your options here. A few times a year, the Irvington NY PTSA hosts a General Membership Meeting during which we share updates on our organization's goals and focus areas. We also hold important votes on issue of interest to our members. For this Fall's meeting, we're excited to welcome a special guest: Ms. Danielle Gamar, LCSW and Student Assistance Counselor for IUFSD.
8/30/2021 How to Update your MemberHub ProfileMemberHub is platform used by organizations like ours all across the country for organizing communications and connecting members.
When you become a member of the Irvington NY PTSA, it's easy to update your MemberHub profile at the same time. Here's how. Getting involved in your school community is easy and fun when you volunteer with the Irvington NY PTSA. We welcome everyone's participation. No matter what your availability is next school year, we can find a role for you. All volunteer opportunities come with support and training.
We are currently recruiting volunteers for a number of leadership positions for the 2021-2022 school year. The Irvington NY PTSA is excited to roll out a new platform that will bring big benefits to our community.
We are moving much of our operations over to MemberHub, a popular online platform for PTSAs across the country. We're making this move in order to streamline our communications and more efficiently run our programs, events, and committees and most importantly make it easier for YOU to communicate with us, each other and our community. Going forward, you can consider MemberHub your one-stop-shop, single source of truth for all things PTSA. 5/8/2021 Let's celebrate the Class of 2021!In partnership with Irvington High School, we are offering a number of fun ways to celebrate the class of 2021.
The Irvington PTSA in partnership with the Irvington Union Free School District is excited to host two live Zoom events with Judith Warner, a New York Times best-selling author of “And Then They Stopped Talking to Me: Making Sense of Middle School” Through the stories of kids and parents in the middle school trenches, Warner reveals why these years are so painful, how parents unwittingly make them worse, and what we all need to do to grow up. With deep insight and compassion, Warner walks us through a new understanding of the role that middle school plays in all our lives and argues that today’s helicopter parents are overly concerned with status and achievement—in some ways a residual effect of their own middle school experiences—and that this worsens the self-consciousness, self-absorption, and social “sorting” so typical of early adolescence. Join the PTSA for our annual spring fundraiser, celebrating and supporting our schools and our community.
Each year, our annual Spring Luncheon provides an opportunity for our community to gather, hear from interesting speakers, share a meal, and shop. This year we have created a virtual version of our annual event to capture the spirit of what we all loved and enjoyed in the past while remaining safe. Join us for this year's PTSA March Madness Challenge!
